What ecommerce site should not do

How do you rank high in Google for an ecommerce site? Many people come to me with their websites, and all they are is some dynamically driven site listing their products and an about page.  My question to them is why would Google rank you at all? An ecommerce site should not just list their products and write salesy stuff.  People and Google wants valuable information.

The same principles apply to an ecommerce site as any other website. Content is king.  First, you need a CMS system unless you want to build HTML pages all day. Use a CMS system like WordPress for SEO, I highly recommend this. Use WordPress even if it is an add on to your ecommerce main structure.

Next and last, you need to build content around each product you want to sell.  Only write detailed useful content with a specific keyword focus for the products you want to sell. The products you do not want to sell just write some generic description.  I am obviously being ironic here.  Even product you want to sell needs a specific content focus.  This is who you SEO an ecommernce site to rank high in Google.
