Joomla vs WordPress seo
No question WordPress seo wins hands down. WordPress can do more for SEO and easier. For example, I have tried to find plugins for Joomla for things like:
- Wiki like links
- Link to me
- Tags
- Recent posts
- Make the Post tile a link or h1 (can be done in Joomla but harder, in WordPress it is the default in many themes).
Etc for Joomla. And Joomla has all these things in some form but no where near as good as WordPress and for example the tag plug in for Joomla you have to pay for. WordPress is free, has tags build in and even more plugins for free to make it even better. Tagging is a very important part of SEO. WordPress is intellegently designed for SEO almost right out of the box. Matt Cutts from google recommends WordPress for SEO. Basically people in the know use WordPress.
Joomla vs WordPress
People say, Joomla can be used for sites and wordpress for blogs. But my sites are wordpress sites and you can not tell them apart from a normal site. They do not look like a blogs at all. So the argument that Joomla is for websites and WordPress is for blogs is wrong. If anyone can show me an effectively SEO Joomla site I will look at it and show you why WordPress SEO is better. Hands down Joomla vs WordPress seo use WordPress rather than Joomla for SEO.

I don’t agree with you dude. For blogging WordPress i think better then Joomla. But so much feature for build a site as a web can be found in Worpress. If you explore the extension for Joomla you will understand that Joomla much better platform to build a web.
Techno thanks for the comments. You can bend WordPress anyway you want, not just as a blogging platform, but for anything. I have a forum, social networking and normal sitess. This WordPress Seo site is a small little blog of mine for fun but I have huge sites that run on WordPress as normal CMS. I think the WordPress community is larger and more active in development than Joomla. However, you are right, with Joomla extensions you can do almost anything you like also. The reason I like WordPress is it has a larger, more active community and development team than Joomla. But Joomla is five stars also. There are other CMS systems out there like CMS make simple, its another good one, but for my sites I keep coming back to WordPress as its very easy to modify and I have had great SEO results.
At last it all depend on the final appearance of our website. If we want it to have classified, or directory perhaps joomla is better (but not for free).
But I like to use WordPress for something niche since it not like joomla where you can place different module at different page.
WordPress supports live writer blogging. That’s why I choose WP.
I guess it is not only a matter of functionality but also preference based on experience. WordPress is aggressive in terms of developement. For example with WordPress 3 you will be able to have a multi user blog with BuddyPress and forum with bbPress pretty well-integrated. I think WordPress can done pretty much whatever you want it to do.
i don’t agree with you either.. there are plugins easy to use for joomla for:
# Tags
# Recent posts
and maybe for the other things, but i didn’t need them.. maybe wordpress is better out of the box, but this isn’t so important, because when we’re talking about competition and getting on the first page of google, you won’t count only on the out of the box seo… you’ll dive deeper… i think both joomla and wordpress can be optimized, if you modify the source code…
At this point both are very good, I also like CMS made simple a lot. However, I would still give WordPress the edge as in version 3.0 it has a very well developed multi site ability and social networking. If you are into user generated content, these are a great plus. I also think WordPress has a bigger community and therefore, more open source contributions. But I am partial as I have been using WP for years and only played with Joomla.
