It is one of the few plugins I use. I am a minimalist when it comes to plugins. Wordpress is really fast with development and progressive with SEO, so except for a few addons it is ready right out of the box.

Hi, I have tried All-In-One SEO Pack initially, then I switched over to Platinum SEO Pack, I realized some advantage over there. Due to some other recommendations, I changed to All-In-One SEO Pack, and I am quite sure All-In-One SEO Pack is not as effective compared with Platinum SEO Pack. After reading your post, I am quite sure to use Platinum SEO Pack again.

Do the research yourself. Set up bbpress. Test it. If you have questions ask. Some people think its too light, I love easy to use light software that is actively being developed.

Thanks for publishing this article. It was very useful and timely for me. I am working on a project where we will be launching a membership website. Included on the website is a user forum for member discussion as well as support. I was about to buy vbulletin but upon further review, bbpress is the way to go. Seems to have everything I need and the price is great!

My experience is that .html works the best. But these are on truly one off .html pages.
I have tried to make my wordpress blogs in the past *.html, not really for ranking higher but because .html has a trust factor for users.
I have since done a standard Wordpress install with my permalinks /%category%/%postname%/
If you want to make them .php I think it will not have much affect. But I do not like the looks of .php and further -
With multi page comments. Would look better without the .html or .php, but
it’s not a big deal.

I like .html or nothing as it has a trust factor and might help rankings. But pure .html pages do rank higher in my experience.
I guess the main thing is do not worry to mch and focus on content. Content is and always will be king no matter how you slice it.

Your right, there is a lot of room for improvement on every site. Quality traffic not just traffic is the most important. To get traffic to convert is the real trick, simply generating lots of traffic from social media, but real inbound marketing takes into account conversions.

Nicely said, we felt the same way so we went out to test the true cost of organic “inbound marketing.” Our experiment results speak to how much snake oil is being professed in the market.

One thing I do not agree with is your comment on low visitor counts, that is a false metric. We believe in quality not quantity, and low visitor count does not mean a failed strategy.

Your post hits the nail on the head, but it’s hard to stop a “thundering herd” and that creates crooks offering silver bullets.

I am now becoming a plugin minimalist, less is often more. I use to have 20 or more Wordpress plugins on my blogs but now only a hand full. The center for any site should be Platinum SEO pack ( this consolidates All in one SEO and headspace) as it does everything you need and a related post plugin. There is still a lot of room for SEO in Wordpress just focusing on other things, such as content.

I would like to recommend the Platinum SEO Pack, it has more useful options than the all in one seo pack. There are more nofollow selections, additional post, page and home headers, you can nofollow all of the outgoing links on just the front page, you can add the noydir meta tag, the noodp meta tag, you can use the option for noindex on sub pages and my favorite option of all is all of the options that it gives you on each individual post and page of your wordpress blog.

Those are just a few of the things that I can think of off the top of my head. The fact of the matter is that I have used both and have found that I am in greater control of my websites on-page seo than when I was using the All in One SEO Pack.
