Best WordPress plugins
The best Wordpess plugin for your blog are connected with those that will make your blog rank higher. So for me the best plugins are the SEO plugins?
The best SEO plugins for WordPress are not a list of ten plugins all with SEO in the plugin name. They are not complicated plugins. But only four simple WordPress plugins that help user experience and Google indexing.
I caution you against reading every review and comparison out there as it will take up your time and leave you more confused. I warn against too many WordPress seo plugins. Why? Many people write posts about Search Engine Optimization and the best WordPress plugin, and they themselves do not really know how to manage their blog so it is the best for the user. They are often marketing their own plugins.
What is best for the user is best for ranking high in Google. In my mind that is organization and simplicity, not plugins. Many people will disagree with me.
But experiment yourself. Go ahead knock yourself out and download all the plugins on the lists of best wordpress plugins . After you try many top wordpress plugin list or read countless reviews, then try my list of four. See what works the best. In my mind, you will see little difference other than a large list is hard to manage and takes time form your writing compared to my simple but very effective small list.
I do not like bloated sluggish code. I do not like SEO. Really, my philosophy is to write in a natural way with lots and lots of content. If you try to SEO your blog too much, in the future something might change in the Google algorithm and you might find yourself back to the drawing board. Why mess with SEO white hat or black hat? Why not just put your writers hat? Why not just focus on user experience and content?
This means good organization and simplicity.
In my opinion if you are using WordPress with maybe a couple of plug-ins you are as good as anyone out there, and your time and energy can be focused on creative content and thinking about how a user will see your page rather than how to alter the code behind the page with the best WordPress plugins.
What is a WordPress SEO plugin
WordPress is optimized pretty well out of the box; however, if your theme template is search engine optimized a few plugins can help. The plugins that I think work best for improving wordpress are those which help wordpress navigation.
If you want to have a large blog and make sure than everything is indexed and interlinked in the right measure, spreading page rank around, consider these plugins:
Best WordPress plugins for your blog
- A traditional sitemap plugin – Sitemaps are navigation of last resort, but if you have one, say in your footer or your sidebar, many people will use them. It will help with user experience and SEO as it will distribute Goolge juice to your posts. Look at the top of this page I have a sitemap plugin.
- WordPress Related posts plugin – This plugin is for SEO and for user experience also. People like to continue to read more about related subjects. It will help navigation and indexing also. If you notice at the bottom of this page I use related post plugin.
- Platinum SEO pack – this also helps with things like duplicate content and title rewrites.
That is it, only three plugins I recommend as your base for your blog. Why spend, like I did, countless hours tweaking plugins when Google.com is all about content.
If you theme can not be set up for post teasers plugin, also consider this, but most themes can be set up this way. I also sometimes use a simple crumbs plugin on some of my sites that are hierarchical.
Google sitemap plugin for WordPress is another add on I use. However, this extend is not really needed on small blogs or if your navigation is set up right.
I only gave you one specific recommendation and three general search engine optimization recommendation above because once you know what type of SEO plugin you need it is fun to experiment with the different plugins to see which is best for you. For example there are a few related post plugins. See which one you personally find the easiest to use.
Basically Google is all about links. But to get links you need to write quality content and make sure Google is indexing all your content in a organized relevant way.
I think if you install the above four plugins you will not have to spent too much more time on content, rather than looking for the best WordPress seo plugin list every week.
